Laying cables in the ground with the GM4 crawler

Kabelverlegung im Erdreich

When creating trenches for irrigation systems, drains and underground cables, trench cutters for laying cables in the ground are the first choice. LIBA has different trenchers in its programme, which convince with their all-terrain and powerful caterpillar drive, a user-friendly control system and the extremely robust construction.

The small but powerful GM 4 caterpillar for laying cables in the ground has clear operating elements and is therefore suitable for quick familiarisation, as its mode of operation is immediately apparent from the very first use.

Trench cutters for cable laying in the Ground

Digging trenches for cable laying in the ground is often a tricky business, requiring professional equipment and careful preparation. LIBA trenchers with their smooth drive are always cutting clean and straight trenches for cable laying in the ground. Regardless of the ground conditions, the cutters show full commitment. If wet loam, stones or rubble make the milling work more difficult, the chain run is briefly changed between backwards and forwards and the trench cutters for cable laying in the ground run free again.

The low centre of gravity of the cutters guarantees a safe stand even in uneven terrain. If a tree stump should ever appear on the path, this will not stop the cable laying. The robustly worked head is equipped with sufficient ground clearance for the crossing. With us you benefit from many years of experience and professional expertise.

Rental and hire of trenching machines for laying cables in the ground

However, if you don’t have your own equipment or qualified personnel, renting trenches is the right option. We come up with an attractive total package consisting of expertise, good ideas, high-quality materials and the right machines.

Our large fleet of vehicles includes equipment for all types of earthwork. In the rental sector, we have various ride-on trenchers for normal to heavy soils at your disposal. We always rent out the equipment with one operator.

For rental we have 3 different trenchers as well as their attachments for cable laying in the ground available.

There are two methods of protecting the cables, especially in the ground, from penetrating moisture.

  1. local connection cables are inflated with an overpressure (10 millibar). Due to the overpressure, if there are small leaks in the cable sheath, air is blown against the penetrating moisture so that no moisture can penetrate. In case of pressure loss, a sensor signals that air is escaping from the system. The cable is then pumped up with a special gas, which allows the leak to be found by means of detection devices.
  2. branching cables (Vzk), the cables forming the

third cable level and used in the local area are protected against longitudinal water The cavities between the pairs of wires are filled with Vaseline (in newer cables with plastic wire insulation).

In case of cable damage, water only penetrates the cable sheath directly at the damaged point. It is not possible to locate the leakage. Older cables with paper insulation around the respective cores have no filling, which means that penetrating water corrodes the cores more quickly and the telephone connections therefore fail faster than with plastic cable. However, leaks can be detected more quickly and the fault can be rectified.

Further information on underground cable laying

For cable laying in the ground, an electrically used cable laid in the ground with a particularly robust insulation to the outside, the cable sheath, which prevents its destruction by chemical influences in the ground or in the soil of living small animals (rodents), is necessary.

Underground cables have several advantages over overhead lines. They are protected against damage – among other things due to weathering – and do not visually disturb the landscape. Disadvantages are the higher maintenance costs and the more difficult localisation of disturbances, such as those caused by construction work and unintentional damage to installed underground cables. The higher costs involved are a disadvantage in energy applications in the high voltage range.
PRODUCT NOVELTY: MILLING WHEEL R500

Underground cables are laid at a safe depth to protect them from damage. In open terrain, the cables are laid efficiently by a cable plough, whereas in rocky and built-up areas they are laid in a previously opened trench. Other laying methods include controlled horizontal drilling, for example to pass under a road, whose roadway remains untouched, or a small stream. Larger bodies of water can be crossed under with a culvert.

For mechanical protection, underground cables are partly laid in cable protection pipes and also in a sand layer surrounding the cable, so that sharp-edged stones cannot cause damage when the ground is stressed, for example by vibration from nearby rail or road traffic. For voltages below 1 kV, underground cables are usually laid at a depth of 60 cm, and 80 cm in the road area. In addition to route warning tape, plastic plates as cable cover bonnets or plates are used as stab and dig protection.
There is no legal requirement for depth layers and cable protection of power cables in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The depth at which cables are laid is determined by the cable owner. These are based on DIN standards and common practice.

At higher voltages, greater installation depths are common. Extra-high voltage lines with 400 kV, for example, are laid 2.5 to 3.7 m below the surface of the earth, or the cables are laid in a specially created tunnel or pipe system which, in addition to facilitating maintenance, also serves for cooling.
Since 1964 trench cutters are manufactured and sold in the factory of „LIBA-Lingener Baumaschinen“ under the name „Grabenmeister“. In a small production hall there were the beginnings of the production of trench cutters, which were already sold worldwide at that time and have proved their worth for a long time in the clientele. Continuous development in adaptation to current practical requirements and advanced technology are the basis of our good reputation.

You can purchase our „Grabenmeister“ trench cutters as self-propelled, excavator-mounted or tractor-mounted cutters and use them in the following areas:

Micro-Trenching with the trenching machines from LiBa

Micro-Trenching für GlasfaserGlass fibre is the future. Data is transmitted much faster than is possible with copper.  Not only the Internet, but also radio, TV, telephone and much more will become much faster through fibre optics. Thanks to the latest technology and processes, it is possible to lay fibre optic cables underground in a very short time. This means, for example, that small excavated trenches of minimal width can be dug and closed again in one day.

Micro Trenching – Lay fibre optic cables even more effectively with a trencher!

Micro Trenching, or Mini Trenching, is a widespread technique that allows for example to lay fibre optic cables quickly and cheaply. The advantages: Micro Trenching causes little damage to the environment, as the construction sites are smaller and therefore take less time, so there are fewer traffic obstructions and less air pollution through exhaust fumes. Projects have also shown that the use of micro-trenching can significantly reduce both costs and working time.

Instead of laboriously digging up the roads with an excavator, micro-trenching simply involves cutting a narrow slot directly at the curb, allowing the micro pipes or fibre optic cables, but also other cables or pipes, to be laid. The name is derived from the English words „micro“ and „trenching“, which in English means something like „tiny trench“. So the name already tells you what kind of technology is involved.

The advantage of Micro-Trenching

Micro-trenching is faster and more efficient, and in general is economically much more localised than conventional civil engineering methods. The first 100 metres can be laid within one morning, which is not possible with an excavator. In this case, a special milling machine will be much faster than an excavator. Because, as already mentioned, it is sufficient for the fibre optic cable if Micro-Trenching cuts narrow trenches into the asphalt. How to do this is explained here.

Fast and cost-effective laying of fibre optic cables

PRODUCT NOVELTY: MILLING WHEEL R500

This type of milling is particularly popular in towns and housing estates. The construction sites should and must be kept quite small in order not to disturb the residents and not to obstruct the traffic flow too much. In order to be able to guarantee this, the trench cutters do not have to be too large and immobile. For this reason we have special machines that we offer for this work.

Our favourite machine for such construction sites is the GM 500 R. This is a milling wheel which can be used very effectively in the city due to its light weight of 1200 kg. The light weight also makes it possible to dig perfect trenches in the asphalt, making micro-trenching ideal. A big advantage of this machine is the already mentioned lightness. This enables the customer to attach the machine to a carrier that is also quite light and compact.

All our machines are produced on site and are made of strong and high quality steel. With the Gm 500 R, we have developed a machine that is designed to simplify work in villages or towns. We have used all our experience to make the trencher as flexible as possible but also robust enough. The result is a machine that is very flexible in cities, because it is very light and can be moved hydraulically. On the other hand it is also robust enough to dig an ideal trench through asphalt and stones. Whether it’s fibreglass laying, micro trenching or sewage pipes, our milling wheel will help you on any construction site.

LIBA trencher GM4 as carrier machine

In combination we are happy to offer our GM 4. This is an excellent carrier and is also quite light and agile. Of course the machine can also be used on other carriers. Already a weight of approx. 3500 KG is sufficient to work reasonably with this machine. The hydraulic power should be possible at 80 litres at 300 bar.

What does micro-trenching depend on?

The GM 500 R milling wheel for perfect glass fibre installation

  • Unlike conventional trenching machines, our milling wheel allows you to work on much narrower and smaller construction sites
  • Especially when laying fibre optic cables, clean trenches are very important in order not to damage the cable
  • Even through asphalt and stones, this milling wheel easily cuts a clean trench for optimum cable laying
  • Another special feature that makes the milling wheel even more flexible is the hydraulic side offset on the rear cross beam
  • You can therefore move your milling wheel hydraulically from right to left, depending on which side the construction site is on
  • This is an enormous advantage when they have to mill in inaccessible areas
  • Thanks to this lateral offset, they can, for example, easily drive on the left-hand side of their carrier while milling on the right-hand side
  • This is sufficient for micro trenching as well as for glass fibre laying or wider cables

Since micro-trenching is all about digging a small but clean trench, our milling wheel is ideal for this task. Due to the stability and robustness of this machine, perfect trenches, even in asphalt, are no problem. Furthermore, we also offer an installation shaft for cable laying. This enables you to work even faster and more effectively. The cable to be laid is laid through this shaft directly behind the milling machine, so that you can mill and lay the cable in one go. This saves time and therefore costs. It also protects the environment, as you can finish your construction site faster and traffic can start moving again more quickly. This reduces the emission of exhaust gases. For further questions, click here!

Minimum trench, maximum speed!

Baggerlader FräseIf you decide to go for micro-trenching, you will have some advantages worth mentioning. This procedure is not only more local from an economic point of view but also ecological. As already mentioned, there are some advantages of micro-trenching that are very beneficial to the environment. For example, because the work is completed more quickly, traffic is resumed more quickly, which means that less exhaust gases are released.

In this method, narrow trenches and slots are made in the asphalt using milling technology. This means that only a small trench width and depth is required and enables the rapid completion of glass fibre routes. In addition to micro-trenching, empty conduits are also to be used and expanded above ground.

Trenching is one of several special laying techniques and is usually always used in combination with other techniques. Important for a sensible use is the differentiation of the methods with regard to trench width and trench depth. In addition, the restoration of the surfaces is also important.

Trenching involves digging a trench only up to 30 cm deep into the pavement or road where conventional cable protection pipes or flat liners with the corresponding fibre optic cables are laid. The cable trench is filled in immediately after laying. A frost-proof, temporarily flowable, self-compacting building material is then used as the backfill material. Thus, traffic obstructions are only of short duration.

By the way, there are several trenching methods, namely micro, mini and macro trenching. These differ in the depth and width of the realised milling slots and in the cutting or milling technology used.

Glass fibre – with high speed into the future

The future belongs to glass fibre. Data can be transmitted much faster than with copper. Today, not only the Internet, but also radio, TV, telephone and much more come through these fibres. No wonder, then, that laying fibre optic cables is currently a much sought-after job. These cable installations are carried out in the middle of the countryside as well as in villages and towns along the Inn. If you intend to do such work, you have come to the right place!

Laying underground cables with the GM4 Allrad – save time and money

Kabelverlegung von Glasfaserkabeln

The trenchers of the GM 4 all-wheel drive series are diesel driven and self-propelled all-wheel drive trenchers. They have a low dead weight and thus guarantee a low ground load. The tilt device can easily compensate for lateral slopes of up to 15 degrees, which is a great help especially in hilly regions.

The excavated material is ejected either to the right or left. However, the conveyor belt can be inserted on both sides so that the excavated material can also be loaded directly. Due to the additional filling funnel, milling and filling with gravel is realised in only one operation. Further accessories enable the GM 4 all-wheel drive trenchers to directly pull in cables and pipes. This means that milling, laying and backfilling can then be carried out in a single operation. This saves a lot of time, which also means that the construction site can be completed more quickly. In addition, the all-wheel milling machines can also be equipped with twin tyres. This provides even better grip and stability, which can be particularly important in rural areas.

PRODUCT NOVELTY: MILLING WHEEL R500

With the self-propelled machine, trenches can be cut without any problems, even in hard ground. For example in asphalt. Especially our GM4 is often used for work in the city. Due to its low weight and the high mobility of the GM4 it is ideal for urban work. These trenchers are indispensable tools for cable laying, both in the country and in the city.

Moving into the future – glass fibre

A special milling machine can in many cases replace the excavator. The reason for this is the speed at which such a milling machine works. The work that such a milling machine can do in an hour is hardly possible with an excavator. However, many people do not even know that it is possible to work with a trencher. Some people only want to dig small trenches and do not want to invest in a trencher. However, it is clearly more efficient and environmentally friendly.

But if you look a little bit into the future, you can see that fibreglass will be a big undertaking for some years to come. Finite cables still have to be laid to build up a stable network. For this reason, the investment in a trench cutting machine is worthwhile. Apart from the efficiency of such a machine, our machines also meet all environmental standards. So you can look into the future with confidence, knowing that you are up to date.

When it comes to successful cable laying, the word „micro-trenching“ is often used. This describes a type of milling in which only a narrow gap is cut into the ground. This is quicker because the gap is very small, as already mentioned, and the work can therefore be carried out more quickly. Especially in the cities a lot is relied on this technique. You can find further information here!

By the way, there are several trenching methods, namely micro, mini and macro trenching. These differ in the depth and width of the realised milling slots and in the cutting or milling technology used.

Laying underground cables with an ecological footprint

The extremely environmentally friendly alternative to the excavator guarantees a maximum workload for cable laying without major impairments in terms of the Nature Conservation Act. A central focus of activity in construction is the laying of fibre optic cables in various design variants. The services of the all-rounder include not only the construction of cable trenches, but also the environmentally friendly excavation of the ground. The individual equipment of our trenching machines is available on request.

Construction and cable laying in a fast procedure. Thanks to the latest technology and processes, the fibre optic cables are laid underground within a very short time. Small excavated trenches of minimised width are usually closed again the same day. In many cases, civil engineering work can even be dispensed with altogether, as empty conduits for the fibre optic cables can be pulled through under the pavement using, among other methods, the flush drilling method. In this way, disturbances for the residents are also kept to a minimum.

Milling of cable trenches in civil engineering – only minor impairments with optimum efficiency

Milling of cable trenches The environmentally friendly alternative to excavators are trench milling, because they ensure the best workload when milling cable ditches without causing major damage in the sense of nature conservation.

When milling the cable trenches, the main focus is on the special variants of cable laying. In any case, a well thought-out project involves the professional milling of cable trenches. It is no less important that the milling of cable ditches goes through the stage without major damage to the land and above all in an environmentally compliant manner. You want more details about our trench cutters? We will be happy to provide you with the necessary documents on request.

Precise milling with LiBa

A clean trench is essential for cable laying. Many machines have the problem that they cannot pull clean trenches and thus half of the excavated material falls back into the ditch. This is an important feature, especially when milling cable trenches. Our machines guarantee you a clean trench!

The reason for this is, on the one hand, our many years of experience, in which we were able to perfect this process. On the other hand, all our machines are tested in our in-house line in order to solve such problems before a machine goes into production. Thus, we can guarantee that our trenches are always clean and precise milled so that they can carry out their project without any problems.

Working ecologically when milling cable trenches

The extremely environmentally friendly alternative to the excavator is the trench cutter, because it guarantees a maximum workload when milling cable ditches without major impairments within the meaning of the Nature Conservation Act. A central focus of activity in construction is the laying of glass fibers in various versions. The services of the all-rounder include not only the milling of the cable trenches, but also an environmentally friendly excavation of the floor. The individual equipment of our trench cutters is available on request.

Construction and cable laying in a fast-track process. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and processes, the fiber optic cables are laid underground within a very short time. Small excavated trenches of minimized width are usually closed again on the same day. In many cases, civil engineering work can even be dispensed with altogether, as empty pipes for the glass fibers can be pulled under the pavement, for example by means of a rinsing drilling process. In this way, disturbances for the residents are also kept to a minimum. This is of great importance when working in residential regions.

PRODUCT NOVELTY: MILLING WHEEL R500

If there is work in a housing estate, it is important to work as quietly and quickly as possible. These demands can be made with the so-called „micro-trenching“. In this procedure, a small trench is milled into the asphalt. The trench is sufficient to lay a fiber optic cable, but is also kept as small as possible.

The difference to conventional milling is the depth of the trench. While it is better to mill a little deeper in the countryside, milling of cable ditches in the city is often not possible. Then the „micro-trenching“ comes into play. Due to the low digging depth, the trench can also be drawn faster. The result is faster work and thus earlier completion of the construction site.

Advantage by quality

One of our greatest advantages besides experience and service is our quality. Our machines are built and completed here on site. Perfection is very important to us in production. We do not take the cheapest material, but the best. For this reason, our machines are also excellent in every area.

Cheap material is certainly cheaper to purchase, but damage when milling cable ditches and unclean digging of the trenches are almost inevitable. In the longer term, a stable machine is therefore much more lucrative. This way of thinking accompanies us to the beginning of LiBa and has given us a good reputation over the years, which we want to keep with all our efforts. Therefore, we would be very happy to convince you of our machines and to welcome you as a customer! For more information please click here!

Usually, the appropriate working machine is required for the professional creation of trenches for the laying of glass fibre in civil engineering. But the focus must also be on accurate preparation.

Glass fibre laying in civil engineering

But what if there are impairments during milling as a result of wet loam, rubble or stoGlass fibre layingnes? The trench cutters for fibreglass laying in civil engineering think in such a case by changing the chain run briefly from forward to reverse. Afterwards, work can be continued without any problems. In view of the low centre of gravity of the machines, it is guaranteed that safe milling is possible even in uneven terrain.

If a tree stump or a root hidden in the ground appears during the laying of fibreglass in civil engineering, such unforeseen obstacles cannot really stop the work. In any case, the milling unit’s adequate ground clearance ensures a smooth passage.

LIBA trench cutters cut straight and clean trenches for glass fibre laying in civil engineering. We can offer a machine for every underground. So we can be sure that our machine will have no problems in the ground to be milled. Of course you can get advice on the right machine for your project from us.

For LIBA trenching machines it is a piece of cake to always cut straight and accurate trenches for cable laying in the ground, as they do their job without jerking at all with their smooth drive. The cutters can be used continuously with maximum efficiency, regardless of the condition of the ground. If the ground is very rocky, we recommend our GM6 ASR. This machine is our weapon when it comes to fighting a rocky ground.

Like all our machines, it has been further developed and improved over the years. There are many technical refinements that provide the customer with enormous support when milling. The machine is powered by a diesel turbo engine with 228 HP, which definitely provides enough power. The chain drive is hydraulic and can be dosed according to the required power. The weight of this trencher is 17,000 KG. This weight is necessary to keep the machine stable and to enable clean milling in hard ground. The driver’s cab can also be swivelled so that the driver has a good view of what is happening at all times and can therefore guide the tiller properly.

In many cases, a trench cutting machine can replace the excavator. The reason for this is the speed at which such a trencher works. The work that such a trencher can do in an hour is hardly possible with an excavator. However, many people do not even know that it is possible to work with a trencher. Some people only want to dig small trenches and do not want to invest in a trencher. But it is more efficient and environmentally friendly.

But if you look a little bit into the future, it is clear that fibre optics will be a big undertaking for some years to come. Finite cables still have to be laid to build a stable network. For this reason, the investment in a trench cutting machine is worthwhile. Apart from the efficiency of such a machine, our machines also meet all environmental standards. So you can look into the future with confidence, knowing that you are up to date.

When it comes to successful glass fibre laying, the word „micro-trenching“ is often used. This describes a type of milling in which only a narrow gap is cut into the ground. This is quicker because the gap is very small, as already mentioned, and the work can therefore be carried out more quickly. In the countryside, such types of milling are often not possible, which is why one then reverts to laying fibreglass in civil engineering. Especially in the cities a lot is relied on this technique. You can find more information here!

By the way, there are several trenching methods, namely micro, mini and macro trenching. These differ in the depth and width of the realised milling slots and in the cutting or milling technology used.

The diesel-powered trenchers of the GM 6 series are best suited for pulling from a cable shaft. They are self-propelled and have a powerful diesel engine. The GM6 is our strongest machine in the series, which can be used in difficult terrain. It is therefore able to pull a perfect cable duct even in rock.

Kabelschacht für Glasfaser mit hartem Boden Very rarely is a terrain completely flat. For this reason, the tiller has a tilt device that makes it easy to compensate for a lateral slope of up to 15 degrees. Our machine also runs on tracks, which promises even better grip in mountainous regions. The excavated earth is ejected either on the left or right side by a conveyor belt. It goes without saying that the control platform of the trenchers can be pivoted. This allows the driver a perfect view of what is happening at all times.

After milling, the extra filling hopper is used to fill the trench with gravel – in just one single step. Our filling funnel is an add-on part, which we are happy to offer our customers in order to work even more efficiently.

The GM 6 trenchers also allow, with the aid of other accessories, for immediate cable ducting, cable and pipe insertion after the trench has been dug.

What about a particularly hard surface? Can trenches for a cable duct be easily created in such a case in order to lay fibre optic cables? The answer is a resounding „yes“, as this poses absolutely no challenge for the self-propelled machine. For professional cable ducting and cable laying, LIBA trenchers prove to be extremely useful machines that faithfully do their job at all times.

It may be necessary to carry out certain projects involving the laying of underground cables, such as fibre optic cables, or to dig trenches for irrigation systems or drainage. In such cases, LIBA trenching machines are extremely useful for cable laying. The main features of these trenches are their easy to use control mechanism, their robust and all-terrain caterpillar drive and their extremely reliable design. Thanks to its manageable controls, the large and powerful GM 6 ASR makes it easy to get started. Yes, LIBA trenchers are almost indispensable for cable laying.

Glass fibre laying in civil engineering by means of cable shaft

A suitable working tool is without question a basic requirement for the professional pulling of trenches for the laying of fibre optic cables. Nevertheless, attention must also be paid to conscientious preparation of the work to be carried out. For LIBA trenching machines it is easy to continuously cut accurate and straight trenches for cable laying into the ground because they do their job completely without jerking due to their smooth drive. Even in difficult soil conditions, the machines work excellently and will help you in your project. Occasionally, the milling work is impaired by rubble, wet clay or stones. In this case, the trenching machines for cable laying think ahead by changing the direction of the chain run briefly from forward to reverse. Afterwards, the work can be continued unhindered. All of the trenchers have a relatively low centre of gravity throughout, which ensures a safe stand even on uneven terrain. Sometimes a tree stump is in the way or a twig is hidden in the ground. But even such obstacles do not seriously hinder the laying of cables. In any case, the sufficient ground clearance of the milling unit allows an effortless passage without damage.

Fibre optic cable in civil engineering with cable duct – maximum efficiency with minimum interference

If major damage to the land is to be avoided in the interests of nature conservation, trenchers are the environmentally friendly option to excavators, as they ensure efficient workload during cable laying. During construction work, the focus is on the different types of cable laying. There is no question that the professional milling of cable trenches is part of a well thought-out project. It is no less important that the trenches are excavated in an environmentally friendly manner and without major damage. You want more information about our trenching machines? We will be happy to send you the relevant documents on request.

  • Self-propelled trencher for milling a cable shaft When it comes to speed and efficiency, our trenching machines are in principle indispensable when it comes to digging trenches at different milling depths.
  • Attachment trenchers for milling a cable shaft. If high efficiency and absolute precision are expected as the main criteria, there is only one machine for this purpose: the GM 160 AS trench cutter with auger. In most cases, the GM 160 AS trencher is used as a mounted trencher for Unimog.
  • Special trencher for milling a cable shaft This depth tiller is designed for a working depth of up to 160 cm and is attached to the tractor’s three-point linkage.
  • Trench cutters for laying glass fibre and for milling for a cable shaft Accuracy plays an important role when milling trenches if they are to be milled accurately.
  • Renting of trenches If the purchase of a milling machine is not worthwhile for you, different working machines are also available for rental. This is especially true for the range of ride-on trenchers for normal to heavy ground.
  • Accessories for trenching machines To make your planned project a complete success, we equip your milling machines perfectly with the appropriate accessories.

We are happy to support you in choosing the right machine with our expertise and years of experience.

Drainage pipe laying with trench cutters

Whether drainage pipe laying or cable construction, our „Lingener Baumaschinen“ machines are up to the tasks you have to cope with on your construction site. Through simple operation and imaginative technology, our machines are able to enable you to work effectively. Whether it is the laying of drainage pipes on a sports field or the fibreglass expansion in the city centre. Or would you prefer to attach your machine to an excavator to carry out track work? No problem, with us you will find the right machine for your job! Both self-propelled and mounted milling machines are part of our range, so we can offer our customers a perfect choice. Whether small jobs or large projects, we will find the right machine for you, and if it has to be something special, we will also find a solution for this, as we have already built several machines to customer specifications.

How does the drainage pipe installation work?

The drainage pipes running longitudinally across the square, the so-called suction cups, are laid with a gradient. They lead the collected rainwater falling on the square to the collectors running around the square. The collectors transport the excess water by means of the pipes to a canal drain, a receiving watercourse or a central infiltration, called a ditch. The drainage ditches are cut into the ground with a trench cutter using laser control on a gentle slope. The next step is to lay the drainage pipe, the so-called suction pipe, in the trench. The trench is then filled with filter-stable rock, e.g. gravel, up to the lower edge of the drainage layer. We use a self-developed attachment for filling the drainage trenches, which ensures that the drainage pipe lies centrally in the trench and is thus completely surrounded by filter-stable material. Finally, the trench is compacted to prevent later dislocation. To prevent silting, we mainly use gravel that has been tested for filter stability.

Advantage through quality

One of our biggest advantages, besides experience and service, is our quality. Our machines are built and finished on site. Perfection is very important to us during production. We do not take the cheapest material, but the best. For this reason our machines are excellent in every area. Cheap material is certainly cheaper to buy, but damage when milling cable trenches and unclean digging of trenches is almost inevitable. In the long run a stable machine is therefore much more lucrative. This way of thinking has accompanied us since the beginning of LiBa and has given us a good reputation over all these years, which we want to maintain with all our efforts. Therefore it would be a great pleasure for us to convince you of our machines and to welcome you as our customer! For more information please click here!

Fibre optic cable laying – fast & inexpensive

The fibre optic network for fast Internet is becoming increasingly important in Germany and around the world. In order to lay these cables sensibly, we offer our knowledge in the construction of trench cutters. Our advantages? Well, for one thing our many years of experience. Our company has been building trench cutters since 1969 and has been very successful. During these years we have continued to develop and work on our machines. For this reason, we can also offer you comprehensive advice and are always there for you if you have any problems. These points are very important to us personally, because good customer service is simply part of a good company. For this reason we would be pleased to be allowed to advise you as a customer. Please feel free to contact us here.

Trench cutters play an enormous role in the laying of fibre optic cables, but why is this so?

We know from experience that many contractors still like to use excavators when digging a trench for laying fibre optic cables or others. For a few meters this Varriante may be very successful, but it is not a solution when it comes to digging longer trenches for laying fibre optic cables. A trencher is much more economical in such a case. The work to be done can be done faster with a trencher, which means that you will be finished with your construction site much faster. This saves time and therefore also costs. A trencher is also more attractive from an ecological point of view. The traffic, which often comes to a standstill due to such a construction site, can get rolling again much faster. As a result, fewer pollutants are emitted. Our self-propelled trenchers also run with engines that meet the latest pollutant standards, so you don’t have to worry about additional costs in this respect. Our machines can also mill in any city centre if you want to lay cables in the city.

PRODUCT NOVELTY: MILLING WHEEL R500

Although an excavator is of course smaller than a trencher, our trencher is very agile and compact. It is therefore no problem to mill in the middle of an inner city. If you choose an attachment, the range of movement is of course even greater. All our attachments are kept as light as possible, so that often even smaller tractors or excavators can be used to successfully operate these machines. We offer all these advantages to our customers in our trenching machines so that you can carry out your work perfectly, such as laying fibre optic cables. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, we are at your disposal! With us you benefit from many years of experience and professional expertise Our devices are characterised by high functionality and reliability. They have already proven themselves in many fields of application and numerous projects and are used by a large number of companies. In addition, we offer you more than 50 years of experience, which is reflected in the technical sophistication and professionalism of our trenching machines.
